SOCIAL MEDIA, IP ADDRESS & CELL RECORD EXPLOITATION:

This two-day social media, IP address and cell phone exploitation course is designed to teach law enforcement personnel how to legally exploit social media, IP addresses and cell phone records in their investigations. This course will teach the student how to obtain social media, IP addresses and cell records from all the major platforms by properly writing and submitting legal processes. The student will then learn what to do with data they receive and how to exploit that data to solve their cases and/or locate their fugitives. The entire course is built and taught using real life case studies. Numerous electronic surveillance techniques will be demonstrated that are applicable to criminal investigations and fugitive apprehensions. The investigative techniques taught in this class apply to Patrol Officers, Fugitive Units, Detectives, VICE, NARC, Gang Unit, Crime Analysts, etc.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

·       Introduction to social media exploitation methods

·       Case law on the use of social media exploitation

·       Overview of IP addresses and how they can be used to locate your suspect

·       How to write the correct legal process to get the data you need

·       How to correctly submit your legal process

·       What to do with the data you receive

·       Utilizing IP records from social media accounts to obtain locations and phone numbers for suspects

·       Case studies from active cases to reinforce the techniques taught in the class

Students will be given a FREE list of investigative resources in the class and shown numerous free databases/resources during the class.
